Give Jenn money, she needs a cell phone.

Just kidding, I already have one. I only put this here since I am not eligible for grants yet (and for payment of projects).

(Sob story) I have done all kinds of research on grants and have found out it is pretty hopeless for me. It would be better if I had more paintings and fine art created instead of graphic arts.

(here's a run-on for you) Only thing is, is that it takes time to do paintings and while you are painting those paintings that take a lot of time, you aren't making any money to pay bills and for supplies that you need to make those paintings, so you end up doing graphic art to pay the bills because it's faster and cheaper, but you get so busy that it doesn't leave any time to do those time consuming paintings that you want to do. You need the money though, because the bills keep piling up, (where do they all come from?) so you don't do the painting that would make it possible to be eligible for grants and such. It's a very vicious cycle and I know too many artists that are stuck in it. It's not fun. (ok, doing any kind of art for me is fun. Even coloring in a coloring book)

I know, there are those out there who are going to say "Why don't you do fast, not a lot of detail paintings." Here is the answer. I can't. I am too anal retentive to do stuff like that. I'll start out with gigantic brushes on a gigantic canvas to do an abstract piece. Inevitably, I always end up with the 000 (extremely tiny brush) to paint the plain black background, just so it is perfect. Who knows, though. Maybe someday when I have no worries, I'll lock up my tiny brushes and paint with a broom. Until then, I will not be ashamed to accept money from those who have a philanthropic need to help us poor artists fulfill our dreams. I thank anyone from my little (it is little, too) humble heart who graciously helps me with my endeavors.

Unfortunately, since I am not a real charity, I am unable to provide anything for tax deductions.
